Weber 751001 22.5-Inch One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill

Weber 751001 22.5-Inch One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill Review

The Weber Model Number 751001 22.5-Inch One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill is a very nicely built grill. You do not feel that they skimped on material goods when they built this. Assembling the grill was only tricky when fitting the base ring for the ash catcher, however once I got through that, it was trouble free.

The metallic grate for the charcoal briquets is shrewd for allowing air to come up underneath the charcoals, helping keep them hot. The cooking grate is smartly created too, with two sides able to be flipped up so that you can add more charcoal if you might need to. The two handles on the cooking grate make it simple to move the grate. The wheels make it very simple to roll the grill around, though if I had a choice I would have suggested rubber wheels as opposed to plastic wheels. Then again, the price was right.

The only gripe I have regarding this grill is that the handle for the lid can get really hot when it’s been sitting on the grill for a while. You can cure this by donning a grilling potholder when removing the lid. I’m not 100% certain if a wood handle would make a significant difference. Just a modest gripe.

The big cooking grate is marvelous. I can put all kinds of food on the grill at once and it won’t make a difference where it lies. If you distribute your coals equally, everything cooks great no matter whether on the outskirts of the sides of the grate or on the heart of the grate. I credit this to the Weber design and style and the grill’s flexibility to disperse heat equally and well.

The ash catcher is one of the nicest benefits on this grill. If you are trying to make a choice between the gold and the silver Weber charcoal grills, make no mistake that this is the better choice without a doubt. The ash plate on the silver model will more than likely fill up with ash rapidly, not to mention it is a potential fire hazard if hot charcoal pieces fall off the side of the ash plate. The ash catcher on the gold model is like a pan and can handle a lot of ash and hot charcoal bits without any trouble. Pay a bit more and get the better feature and you won’t regret it.
